DICE released a new trailer for "Back To Karkand" add on coming next month to Battlefield 3. New Vehicles  including hover jets are coming. Remember, if you got the limited edition, you'll be getting this for free, and a week early for ps3 owners, and talking about ps3 owners...

EA is making Battlefield 1943 free to PS3 owners after all, after a class action law suit was made against them. The game was original to be made free to PS3 owners of Battlefield 3 but was pulled. Now after complaints and lawyers, EA was wised up and is giving us the game. here's the info and when you can get yours.

Battlefield 3 (PS3) review

 The Battlefield games have been a PC gaming staple for years. The series has been a multiplayer oriented game for years with a single player that is just multiplayer with bots. DICE and EA have been trying to get the Battlefield series a foothold on consoles with that god awful Battlefield 2 rehash and the Bad Company series. But Battlefield 3 not only is a attempt to make the series a console juggernaut, but also try to make a great campaign, let's see if Battlefield 3 does this.

Before I talk about the campain, I'm not a hardcore military shooter fan. The only Military shooter i like in both single player and Online is Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare It has been the standard barer for me as the perfect military shooter, and no game (not even MW2) has been able to beat it. Battlefield 3's single player does not do this. It seems to me to follow the cookie cutter story line that CoD4 seems to have made, there Muslim terrorist getting weapons from Russians, and they give them a nuke, and it goes off. At some point you face the Russians. There is also good Russians as well. It is the same old lack of storyline creativeness that makes Battlefield 3 Single player just another disappointment to me. Don't get me wrong I like the single player, I just would like something different storyline wise. 

Now we get to the meat of Battlefield 3, the multiplayer. You have your choose of ether CO-OP, which 2 people take on mission to unlock weapons you may or may not even need, and multiplayer. The MP is made up OF 5 Modes, Conquest, a battlefield classic, where you fight to keep control points under control. Rush where the attackers attack and take down M-Coms while the defenders prevent that from happening. Of course you know what team deathmatch is, and Squad Rush and Squad deathmatch, is a 4 on 4 version of the other 2 big versions. MP can get intense, there is nothing like being in a drag out battle in conquest mode trying to take over a small alley way. There are plenty of vehicles to master, tanks, planes, choppers, jeeps, and anti-air. Some are easy to operate, while others like chopper and jets you need some practice, which you can only do in MP due to a lack of a skirmish mode. While there are a lack of made you own class like in MW2, the classes (assault/medic, engineer, support/demolition, recon) have a lot of customization. You can customized (via weapon unlocks by getting kills and ranking up like COD) each class to you taste, and what the current battle you need, you can change weapons and more while waiting to repawn, which i do believe you can't do in any pre-MW3 game (i'm waiting for it to come). You need to have a stinger instead of a rpg, you can change that. Need to use mortars instead of claymore, you can change that. Battlefield 3 multiplayer is amazing and stands up well to nay CoD game.

Battlefield has lived up the hype, it is a great game. I really enjoy it, specially the MP. I will be enjoying this game for many months. As for it being better than Modern warfare 3? Well I'll have to wait for MW3 to come my way.

Classic The Simpsons Arcade Game coming to consoles

It was revealed on Friday that Konami and BackBone entertainment (who has released may classic arcade beat 'em ups) may be sending The Simpsons Arcade game to consoles next month. Along side the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game (which still mat be on XBLA, go get if you do not have it) the Simpsons arcade game are my favorite arcade games of my childhood. I only got to play it once a year at the county fair's arcade.....till they stop having a arcade there. which I stop going to the fair. This arcade game has the honor of being the closest I ever got to beating a game on a arcade machine. I will be getting this game, and I will beat it to fix a childhood disappointment.

GTA V trailer released today

After what seems like years of toying from rockstar, GTA V first trailer was released today. It looks like it take place in Los Santos (i think that's what it's called) unless the do the whole san andreas thing again. It sounds like you going to be a normal criminal trying to make it, going back to the older GTA games. I wonder how many disc will be for the 360? Because I'm sure it will be too big for just one. Hope to get more trailers soon.

Goldeneye 007 reloaded for 360 and PS3 launch trailer arrives

On Tuesday, Goldeneye 007 reloaded comes to the 360 and PS3. With all the big games already and coming out, this one will get lost among them. I'm going to pick up when its dropped in price, but it does look good to me.

in an attempt  to remind us that MW3 is coming soon in the week that Battlefield 3 comes out, Activision has released the MW3 launch trailer today. I'm hoping that the story is much better than mw2. I'm also interested in if sledgehammer games can fit in infinity ward's shoes.I'm on the fence on getting it, but I'm sure the game will do very well.

Battlefield 3 Multiplayer trailer with mini DLC preview

Battlefield 3 is coming next week, soon you get to enjoys massive maps, shitload of vehicles, and the the battlefield game play battlefield fans know and love. the multiplayer trailer was released yesterday and like the others it looks amazing.It also includes a min-preview of the back to karkand DLC, free for those who pre-order Battlefield 3 (i'm one of those, getting the ps3 version, by the way, I have a PS3 now). Seeing how I never got to talk about the BF3 beta (no internet) I/talk about in brief. I thought it was ok, metro, the map, could have been better, but I liked what I seen. If you new to the whole Battlefield world, it's consist of two teams, and you win by ether gaining control of the points on the map, or loose all your teams tickets, which you loos by teammate and your deaths. Can't wait for this games, going to be great\

Battlefield 3 TV ad released today.

The Battlefield 3 TV ad was released today, ramping up the battle with MW3.  This game looks good, can't wait to play it. Going to be getting the beta on the 29th, I'm sure I'll talk about it on the blog.

Could the “Great Portable Gaming Crash of 2012” happen?

Portable gaming is having a hard time these days. Slow sales, competing with ipods and smartphones, and attacks form industry insiders is making this section of the gamming spectrum look weak, but could portable console market crash just like video games did back in 1983? Are the conditions the same as they were in ’83? And could portable gaming make a comeback?

 The video game crash in 1983 happened because of too many systems, lack of good games (*cough ET the game  *cough), and rise of the personal  computer which could play games and was a learning tool, something they console didn't do or try to do (remember the basic programing game for 2600?). Are the same conditions affecting the portable gaming market today? Well we can count out the too many systems, 3 systems (DS, 3DS, PSP. 4 if you want to count vita) are not too many. How about lack of good games? Well PSP had its problems, and looks like Sony will try better on vita, and Nintendo makes great 1^st party games, but all the 3^rd party licensed crap out there does hurt it a bit. The one thing that is a threat and is costing sales is a non-gaming competitor.

Smartphones and Tablets are hurting and maybe close to killing the portable gaming market.  Back during the 83 crash, PC were stealing sales by offering a learning experience and a future career path, something like I said before, console could not or at least tried to offer (I still would like to see what the 2600 basic programing game was like). Smartphones/Tablets offer somethings that portable gaming can’t or are trying to offer. Apps, phone calls, and cheap games are some of the offerings.  Both companies are combating this in both of their new systems, but are losing. Even though PS vita looks to change this, I’m reminded that HP’s touchpad did not last too long before they gave up. I’m sure Sony would throw in the towel as fast as HP, but it’s something to think about.

Now what if this crash does happen, will portable gaming make a comeback after? Well I think it will and we already have a possible solution…

 The Wii U pad controller can easy be turned into a table gaming device, it can easily be make to work without the need of a console, and could easily compete with the ipad seeing how Nintendo can reach places where the ipad has seem not to go yet, family gaming. One other company has a change to change portable gaming…

Microsoft and Sony too already has the tools with windows phone 7 and xbox live to make a smartphone dedicated complete to video games, and Gaming Phone. Gaming Phones are the next step in portable gaming. If the xperia play was not a huge failure, Sony would already have a hold on the market. These are the future of portable gaming.

So will portable gaming market crash next year? There signs are there, but it depends on if the companies are willing to compete and if the economy improves. And who to say it will fail next year, it could crash in 2013 or 2014. I think the market has a great chance of surviving and rising from the ashes if a crash does happen. It's all speculation anyway, just enjoy the gaming.

The RAGE launch trailer was released today. This game looks great, but due to gears 3, battlefield 3, MW3, and halo ce  being on my radar i haven't pay much attention to it, here's the trailer

Today Bethesda released 3 videos demoing Skyrim's game play. It's pretty much the same as the previous elder scrolls games, with exception to the dual welding spells. This game looks amazing, but with the slew of other games coming out around the same time, I'm wondering if skyrim will do well sales wise.






  

Battlefield 3 video leaked

3 videos of Xbox 360 gameplay of Battlefield 3 has been leaked today from reddit. The videos shows jet gameplay and start menu, building damage (above), and single player gameplay. As for it being real, I don't know, but it looks like the real thing. Jet Fighter looks great, as well as destroying buildings. This is one game I'm looking forward to.







  

The Fall 2011 Game Preview

It's the unofficial beginning of Fall today, and fall is when all the big games come out of there develpoer hidey holes, to be embrace (or criticized) by thousands of gamers, let's see what's a coming.

September 

     

these 4 game are starting the season off tomorrow. I'm sure many a PS3 fanboy are just waiting to get there hands on  resistance 3. The other 3 have been geting good buzz as well

  

these games round out September. Gunstringer is geting good buzz, I'm going to be getting the demo to see what's all about. I have only played demos of ICO ans shadow, but if I had a PS3 i would be getting that collection. X-men destiny has not been on my radar, but may pick it up later at a cheaper price. And Gears 3, the "end" to the series comes with a improved horde mode and lots of grubs that need killing, Will we find out what fienx's dad is up to, or see what he looks like, and will we find out why the locus queen is not a locus? All will be revealed later this month

October

    

October will see some heavy hitters come out. Spider-Man Edge of time will surly bring in the spidey fans (i'm a spidey fan, yet don't care for the games) Rage was been getting great buzz and is on my want list.  Foza 4 is also on my want list and i'm curious about how the game works with kinect. If it;s ant thing like kinect joyride I;m sticking with my controller. Batman returns in Batman Arkham city, this time with more villains that need a good old fashioned Batman beating. 2 first party games, Ratchet and clank all for one and kriby's return to dreamland will bring in the ps3/wii faithful.  Dance Central 2 will get the those of you that like dancing games to boogie woogie boogie. And the first shot in the well over hype "BATTLEFIELD 3 VS MODERN WARFARE 3" war will be made by BF3. I'm choosing BF3, because I love vehicle combat in my Muliplayer gaming.

November

                

November is full of games as companies try to get you get your Christmas games early. Uncharted 3 starts the month off as drakes adventures continue. MW3 enters into the battle in Nov hoping to keep it's crown. Many will be enter the world of Skyrim, my pick to win many GOTY awards. Halo CE returns with both classic and HD modes. While BF3 and MW3 have there fight, Master Chief is waiting in the shadows send people Halo's way. Saint row the third will be casing hell one more. Link returns in skyward sword in his last appearance on the wii. Assassins creed revelation will have you taking out people once again. Mario make his 3DS arrival in Super Mario Land 3d. Get ready to relive Solid Snake's (and big boss') adventures in the metal gear solid hd collection. And more fighter are coming in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.

the next few month are going to busy gaming wise. Who's going to win? Who's going to lose? Will sales be up or will the amount of games coming out this season hurt sales over all? We all will have to wait and see.
