Nintendo to reveal 3DS games next month.

Nintendo will be revealing some games for Nintendo 3DS next month at Nintendo World 2011 in Tokyo. This is consider just a teaser , but we all will be waiting to see them. As for the North American 3DS price? That's coming out the second week of January in New York. PlayStation Phone could be coming in Spring 2011

The PSPhone could be coming sometime to North America and Europe this spring according to a report in an Japanese newspaper. It will be based off of the PSP GO, a PSP where you have to download the games vis WI-FI or a PC, and run the android OS.That means there is already a good section of games and apps for it. No pricing or what cell carrier will have it.

From the pile Christmas special: JSA #55 (from JSA princes of darkness)

It's Christmas day, and somewhere wildcat, hawkman, and golden age flash and green lantern are heading to New Hampshire to visit golden age red tornado, who is dressed up as Santa Claus at a department store, and is an old lady. What happens? the store gets robbed by Santa mask wearing punks.... Big mistake. After the JSA takes care of most of the punks, Ma kicks the one straggler punk's ass.I like it when the JSA brings in the former members of the golden age, and showing what they use to look like. Red Tornado a pot wearing fighting mama is great and ends up joining the team as the cook. This story is the JSA book princes of darkness(also great, give it a read). seeing how ma taking care of the team at the HQ is nice to see. I have fallen in love with the JSA, and plan on reading the All star comics archives at the library, with some libraries in have.

DC Universe online is comming on January 11

On January the 11, you will be able to take you own idea for a hero or villain, and save some lives , or raise hell in DC Universe online. Today the release date was released. North America will get it on the 11th, Europe will get it 3 days later on the 14th (probably because all the snow , plus they have no snow plows). The game will cost $50 for PC and $60 for PS3 with 30 days free then a $15 monthly fee. I expect that many will disregard the $10 price difference and get the PS3 version, easier than updating your PC. There is a $100 collectors edition than hardcore DC fanboys will nab up. I also expect that many Marvel fans will make Marvel hero rips off in the DCU, Be prepared to see many "Spider-Man" and "Captain America" look a likes. So are you going to join in on the hero  vs villain mayhem in DC Universe online?

From the pile: Superman Red Son

What if superman landed in soviet Russia? What if Lex Luthor and Louis Lane was married? What if Batman was a terrorist? All these and more can be found in Superman Red Son, a"what if" tale of soviet Superman and what the world would be like. 

A great story, I never got lost or bored with it. Seeing what the major players in the DCU would be like if superman's ship landed in the Soviet Union was very interesting. a unchecked Luthor taking over the world (except Russia) was disturbing, yet very interesting as well. Also seeing Wonder Woman, Batman, Lois Luthor (yea that's right....LUTHOR!) and the Green Lantern corps is like if a soviet superman was all in this alternative universe was great to see. The ending was a little confusing, does Earth become a Luthor controlled Krypton, or it was all along an alternative Krypton? Most people put off these "what if" books like the elseworlds series, but I like them. I recommend Superman Red Son and the other elsewords books, all are a great read.

From the pile: Siege Battlefield

Siege battlefield collects the series of one-shots that happen between siege #3 and #4. Loki, spider-man (including Ms.Marvel), Captain america (or Captain Americans),young avengers, and secret warriors are the books in this collection. There is only 2 good books in my opinion, spider-man and secret warriors.  The others I just did not like of could get into the story. Spider-man had a great story involving Venom and Ms.Marvel. Venom taking over Ms.Marvel was great, and also kinds revealing. Secret warriors was good too. It deals with Aries son, dealing with his death(you remember, The sentry turned him in to hamburger meat). His son pissed at the government and takes it out on a bunch of secret service agents while visiting the president. After kicking ass, he leaves the president a note. What about the other stories? Had no idea what has going on in Loki, got bored with Capitan America, and I never liked the young avengers. I recommend that you get the one-shots of Siege: Spider-man and Siege: Secret Warriors, and just skip Siege Battlefield.

Lara Croft gets rebutted, I mean rebooted

Like every thing else in this "You idea is shit, lets use this one but make it better" world, Tomb Raider and Lara Croft is getting rebooted. As seen on the cover of gameinfomer above (I use to get that mag), we see the not too good looking Lara, with what looks like Rambo's Bow. Rumors are that this is a young Lara that washed up on a island.... then turns up she already dead (kidding lost fans, except for that island part). Could this be the first Tomb Raider game that I will play (could never get into the series), we'll see.

Plan your revisit to Oddworld, It's coming to steam

If you're like me and never got a chance to play any of the Oddworld games, here's your chance.OddBoxx is coming to PC vis steam before the end of the year. It will have four games, two already on sale on steam and two new ones that were on Xbox. No release date or price has been set. I bet many will get. this game. If my PC was not dead, I would.

Naked vampires could be coming to Xbox 360.. Microsoft may be planning to bring cable to the 360.

Microsoft may be planning to bring cable channels to the Xbox 360, turning it into a cable box. It may ether be bringing in channels, via cable companies using the console as a cable box, or offer the channels via a xbox cable service. We already have ESPN on xbox (via ESPN 3) and does not sounds to far fetch that MS would do this. Two channels mention were HBO and Showtime, both premium channels. They would be offer ether a la carte (pick and chose of you want them) or just get the shows only. An a la carte

 option for all channels available would be good, there's been talk of doing this for cable for years and could greatly help MS and greatly hurt cable.This service would be offered on xbox live in about 12 months. This is just another step (the next would be DVR consoles) in the evolution of gaming consoles.

From the Pile: Thanksgiving edition special: JLA/JSA Virtue and Vice

It's Thanksgiving, the day in the year where the JLA and the JSA get together to have some turkey. What could go wrong? Well, the 7 deadly sins could come and take over the minds of 7 heroes.Also Johnny Sorrow could come back and raise hell.Not to mention, a demon could come and take over the presidents body. all this and more happens in the crossover epic JLA/JSA Virtue and Vice by David Goyer and Geff Johns, the great writing team of JSA fame.The story is great , never lost interest one bit.Plus it's always good to see the two teams joining forces outside of a big DC event. The twist do get to be too much at times, but I can live with that. Great art, done by JSA artist Carlos Paceco. So this Thanksgiving, why not read this this book, because it's the only Thanksgiving comic book story that I know of.

From the Pile: The Amazing Spider-Man The Gauntlet: The Lizard.

If you have not been following the Gauntlet storyline, you've been missing of of the best spider-man story lines in recent memory. Out of all the stories of the gauntlet, this is the best. It doesn't get boring at the end like some of the other stories in the gauntlet. The Lizard story is the best spidey story in recent memory.

"Shed" is a tale of the end of Dr.Conners,(aka the lizard) dear friend of Peter Parker and spider-man. He's working for a man(who's a dick) mostly lab work. He's trying to find a way like always to get rid if the lizard in side of him once and for all. But getting push by his boss releases the lizard, and the boss becomes lizard chow.The Lizard is more lizard like the ever before. And with the meddling of the Kravinoffs, the Lizard is here to stay.I'm Not tell how it ends, but the events will be felt in many spidey books in the future

The story is great, a well written spider-man story. Zeb Wells did a great job. As I said before, this is the best story from the Gauntlet story line. Plus, the lizard origin mini story was interesting, much better than the other gauntlet origin stories that I've read. The art  was great, the new look lizard was done well, and the scene were the lizard eats the boss, looked great. I highly recommend this book to any comic book fan, even those old spidey fans who stopped reading ASM. I can't wait to get my hands on grim hunt.

Diablo 3 may come to consoles….. maybe & Blizzard’s console woes.

Blizzard is looking in to porting Diablo 3 to consoles, which for me will make me very happy. Blizzard is looking for a developer that has “experience” in developing console games….. because they don’t. Bizzard has never had a good port of a game, ever played Diablo for Playstation or Starcraft 64? I’ve played Starcraft 64…. WORST PORT EVER! They did make one good console game, The Three Vikings; I heard good things about it. Maybe this time will be different, maybe the merger with Activision will help, may be this one will be good. If the console version of Diablo 3 is bad, may god helps us all.

From the Pile: The Legion Foundations

   

This is the first Legion book that I've read. The only other story was in a superman the man of steel book, I didn't pay that much attention to. I Only know of the legion tough mentions on twitter an the TV show(never got into it).So I was interested in this book. 

   

The story is a about the future, more accurate, the 31st century. Darkseid is now just a stone fossil, barely alive. But you know Darksied, he wants to control the universe, even in rock from. First his disciples (one a very dark Orion) steal a teen Clark Kent from the past, thus screwing up the timeline.They also screw up the timeline by bring a young Darksied to the future, forcing the Legion to fight side by side along the young Darksied.

   

The story was so so, it started with the usual "new recruits to out team" story, which done right can be be good. Somehow, they find superboy is a stargate, not tell how he got there and why.The writers fail ti show the complete rehab of superboy, which I wanted more of. Also the change of superboy's uniform from the black tee and jeans (which I like) to a muscle reducing superman uniform which just looks wrong on him should not have been done. One major problem was the cut in to the story with a reporter interviewing the members of the legion.It should have been at the start. At least the fight at the end was good.

   

The Legion Foundations is a read if you want to see what the Legion is like. I would not suggest this as a must read. If the story has done right, it would have been a good read.

Kinect with problems…. Is still that great?

It’s been about a week that Kinect has been out and reports about problems with the “no-controller” controller have filled the net. Do these problems hurt Kinect in any bad way? Or they just expected? Let’s look at some of the problems:

Not able to detect dark skin people:

OMG MY KINECT IS A RACIST!!! Well no… it’s not. Kinect has a problem with detecting dark skinned people because you don’t have enough light in your room. It’s just like any other device with a camera, it need light. Turn on some lights in the room, or bring some in.

Picking up conversations when you don’t want it to.

So your buddies herd you wife bitch at you while playing CoD Black Opps, well don’t use your Kinect as a MIC for Xbox live. All you have to is change the settings so your kinect will not be used as a Mic in those, non-kinect games.

My body hurts during and after playing kinect:

It’s called exercise, and you must need it. What do you expect with a “no-controller” controller. It’s a benefit that you should use more often.

Finally, I played Kinect naked now there are nude pics of me on my Xbox:

The simple solution is to not play kinect naked, but if you do, just go to the memory management tool and delete that games data.

None of these problems really hurt Kinect, all are easily fixable. Kinect has impressed many and is the next step into the future of gaming, even computers. Kinect will be around for a while, and so will these problems
