This fall, Nintendo is releasing a new Wii SKU, with a new look (no pics yet) and something missing, No gamecube support. It will not play Gamecube games or have the slots for controllers or memory cards. Does this mean there will be another price drop? Surly it's cheaper to make a wii without gamecube slots. Plus Nintendo needs the money and a cheaper wii could help. The "new" wii comes with wii party and wii sports and comes out in the UK in the fall, with no word on a US release yet. If it does come here, I'll be looking for the older gamecube friendly one.
Nintendo Announced today that they are dropping the price of the Nintendo 3DS from $250 down to $169. The price drop is mainly due to slow sales of the portable console, and lack of hit games. I believe they did to help compete against the PS vita this holiday season, which would be a good move on Nintendo's part. I also do believe the economy had played some part in the 3DS's slow sales
The Nintendo Wii U was revealed to the world yesterday, & the gaming public was amazed. The wii U features a screen on the controller. It is 6.2 in 16:9 (yea HD, most likely 720p), dual analog stick a,b, x,y, lb,rb, and zl/zr buttons. A stylus, rumble features, motion controls, and a power button.Wii games, controllers, and accessories will work with wii u. Wii u will have built in flash memory, but you can add more via SD cards or a USB hard drive via the 4 usb 2.0 slots. Game wise a mario game was featured and a new super smash bros was said to come to the system. You can transfer the game you're playing from the tv to the touch pad, lets not hope that many company make the the only trick it can do. Wii U will come some time in 2012, hope fully before the end of the world.
Work on PlayStation 4 is underway . Sony VP and CFO Masaru Kato said in a investor's meeting today"this is a platform business, so for the future platform - when we'll be introducing that product, I cannot discuss that - but our development work is already underway."
Yes, basically he said "PS4" OR "NGC" is being worked on, but how much work is done on it? I beT we'll find out at E3.
As the days count down till Nintendo 3DS comes here to the states, lets take a look back at the best portable gaming system of this generation.
The original Nintendo DS, big, bulky, but you can play any of the Game Boy games on it. I almost most got a used one of these, but with my first credits card I would get this...
Nintendo DS lite, smaller, brighter from what I've heard, but only played GBA games along with DS games, I've have many a great time with mine, then came the upgrade...
Nintendo DSi, with Downloadable mini games and internet browsing ( which you could do if a regular DS with a separate cartage). Never got one... never need it.... or this one....
But I never saw the need for a bigger screen..... or had the money.
Game wise, Glad Nintendo finally had plastic DVD like cases, I have not lost any of my games like gens before. And boy was there some great ones. Sadly my DS got treated like my other Gameboys.... I tend not to get games for them, but I know I got more DS games than with GBA games. I still need to get New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, and Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. I did get both Legend of Zelda DS games. As we come, well not to a close, many will still be playing DS games on 3DS. We can't forget that the DS was a huge step of Nintendo.
Street Fighter, the grandfather of the modern fighting game. At some point in a gamer life, they have played a SF game. My first like many others was street fighter 2 on SNES. Those were they days. But does Super Super Street Fighter IV live up to the legacy?
All of our favorite fighters are back! Peter, Louis, Meg, Chris, Brian, Stewie.... wait...... thats Family Guy. You know who they are, Ryu, Ken, M.Bison, Vega, Gulie, Chun-Li, Blanka, and Zangief (who's gay by the way, yea it's true capcom just decided one day to make him gay for some reason). With those and some new one added (like the characters from Final Fight) we get 35 fighters all together.
The game is in the classic 2d fighting gameplay, non of this 3D fighting. You on one side, the guy you're going to beat on the other. The fights locals are great, from hippos, drunks on the street, to a worker that looks like Mario, all are great. Plus you get the classic bonus stages, the car crusher(which I'm good at) and the Barrel blaster (which I'm ok at). Need to work on you skills, there's training and trail modes, both good for leaning the moves(like super and ultra combos), but I find Vs mode is good at learning too.Want to take your skill online? There's three modes to do it in, plus with replays, you re-watch your great victories.
Even though I suck at fighting games, I still like them. SSFIV is a great game. yea you get pissed after losing to Seth 10 times in a row, but that's fighting games for ya. SSFIV has great modes, moves, intro and ending videos, looks great, and is good old fashion fighting. For under $20, a great way to get ready for Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Pick it up today
The PSPhone could be coming sometime to North America and Europe this spring according to a report in an Japanese newspaper. It will be based off of the PSP GO, a PSP where you have to download the games vis WI-FI or a PC, and run the android OS.That means there is already a good section of games and apps for it. No pricing or what cell carrier will have it.
